Installation & preparation
Remove residual gasket material and inspect the mating surfaces before assembly. Follow the Yamaha service manual for surface preparation, gasket placement, sealant requirements, tightening sequence and torque.
Yamaha reference note: OEM numbers identify corresponding original components for comparison, using the XT225 parts catalog as a reference. Part revisions can vary by model, year and market. This VICTECH aftermarket set contains the four items listed above; it is not a Yamaha OEM kit. The 72 mm measurement refers to the head-gasket opening, not the engine cylinder bore.
Material & construction
TEADIT NA-1005 fiber material is used for two gaskets in this VICTECH set, as confirmed by APJ Motorsports:
- Cylinder base gasket
- Cam chain tensioner gasket
The cylinder head gasket and exhaust gasket are excluded from these material specifications.
TEADIT describes NA-1005 as a compressed non-asbestos sheet combining aramid and other synthetic fibers with a nitrile rubber (NBR) binder, suitable for applications involving petroleum derivatives and oils.
