Material & construction
Multi-Layer Steel (MLS) Cylinder Head Gasket: The cylinder head gasket uses multi-layer steel construction, as confirmed by APJ Motorsports. The exact layer count and steel grade have not been documented for VICTECH 5861. This gasket is separate from the four TEADIT NA-1005 sheet-material gaskets listed below.
TEADIT NA-1005 fiber material is used for four gaskets in this VICTECH set, as confirmed by APJ Motorsports:
- Cylinder base gasket
- Cam chain tensioner gasket
- Clutch cover gasket
- Magneto cover gasket
The MLS cylinder head gasket and exhaust gasket are not made from the four TEADIT NA-1005 sheet-material gaskets described above. The exhaust gasket material has not been specified.
TEADIT describes NA-1005 as a compressed non-asbestos sheet combining aramid and other synthetic fibers with a nitrile rubber (NBR) binder, suitable for applications involving petroleum derivatives and oils.
TEADIT sheet-material technical data
| Continuous / peak temperature | 240 °C / 400 °C |
|---|---|
| Continuous / peak pressure | 50 bar / 110 bar |
These are sheet-material reference values, not operating ratings for the engine or complete gasket set. Suitability depends on service conditions; maximum pressure and temperature must not be assumed to apply simultaneously.
